Beer Safari

Date:           Friday 30, July 2010

Beer Safari is a new way to discover what goes into producing great beer. Join a guided explorationaround Suffolk and Norfolk to learn about the key ingredients of beer and how it is brewed. With an expert guide, we will visit a hop farm, a malting barley farm and breweries. Along the way we will meet the farmers and brewers, hear their stories and taste their wares.

The Safari will culminate, appropriately, in one of Suffolk’s leading gastropubs - The Anchor at Walberswick. Owners, Mark and Sophie Dorber will present a tasting dinner at which a variety of local specialities will be served and accompanied by pairs of beers designed to show precisely how beer and food matching works at its best.

Tailored tours are available for professionals or beer enthusiasts.

What you will get out of the day:

You will learn about how beer is made, its ingredients and how they impact on flavour. You will sample a range of beer styles and pair some of them with different foods. Most of all we hope the course is informative and loads of fun.
