Catch and Cook

No fish can taste better than one you have caught yourself! Join us onboard our specially chartered boat, The Panther and not only will you have the chance to catch your own fish, but our on-board will show you how to skin, gut and fillet it.
The North Sea offers excellent fishing and the numerous wrecks off Southwold hold extensive fish stocks. In the winter there is excellent in-shore fishing for cod, skate and dog fish. In the summer months we'll fish 20 miles off-shore to find bass, skate and mackerel.
We'll set off from Walberswick with experienced skipper Mark Felton who'll explain the different species, habitats, seasons and stocks of fish off the Suffolk coast. You'll be fully kitted out with bait and tackle to see what we can find. Experienced anglers are welcome, but if you've never fished before there'll be plenty of one-to-one tuition.
We'll spend the day fishing and take a sustaining brunch on-board with us, returning to The Anchor at Walberswick for a reviving seafood feast.
We can not guarantee you will catch fish, but we will try our hardest to put you on the fish, and and make your day an enjoyable and memorable one.
The format of the day varies with the seasons.

Weather Policy
48 hrs before the event we will do a weather check. Our skipper will advise us on whether the event can go ahead and we will email to you confirm that the event will go ahead.
A further check will be made at 6pm the evening before the trip. Please provide a mobile phone number so we can contact you.
We reserve the right, based on advice from our skipper, to cancel on the day of the event if unpredictable adverse weather conditions apply. We unfortunately cannot be held responsible for any travel or accommodation losses due to a cancellation.
A roll over date will be offered for the same year. If the roll over dates do not match the availability of the guest, a refund will be offered. We will let you know of the next available date within in 48hrs of the cancelled event.
