Pump St tour

Pump Street Bakery opened  just over a year ago in Orford on the Suffolk coast and it already has a cult following for it’s range of sourdough based loaves and delicious pastries. Artisan baker and founder, Chris Brennan, will take you on an exclusive tour of the bakery explaining the techniques and showing you the specialist equipment they use to create the perfect sourdough loaf.

On the tour you will learn what a precise technique they use to create a consistently high quality product.  You will learn about fermenting, hydrating and retarding, and the importance of shaping and slashing each loaf.

The tour is led by artisan baker, Chris Brenan, whose enthusiasm for baking real bread using natural sourdough brought him out of retirement to establish the Pump Street Bakery. Chris learned from artisan bakers in San Fransisco and at St John in London and he will share his knowledge and passion on the course.

We will enjoy a delicious seasonal lunch showcasing a variety of Pump Street breads from 100% rye with Pinney’s smoked salmon and Walnut and Cherry Sourdough with local cheeses and relax in the stylish Pump Street Cafe in Orford’s pretty Market Square where  you can put any final questions to Chris.
